I didn't forget him, I pretend that Daniel doesn't exist because he's merely a character created to tie in BSG to the Caprica series. He serves no purpose in the storytelling of Battlestar, only as a promotional figure for a spin-off show.

i think Graystone warrents mention, given that he created the Centurions. Though it's a stretch, he's directly responsible for the destruction of the 12 Colonies of Kobol.

According to Daniel's Wikipedia Article, Ronald Moore states that the seventh Cylon model was a springboard for Caprica.

You're right however, Daniel is not a character in the Caprica series, and Ronald Moore stated that Daniel is merely a plot device to explain the numbering mistake and to expand on Cavil's character.
